Freespira: Day 0.5?

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure I truly am a Type A personality. My house is always a mess, I never know if I am coming or going, my Google Calendar looks like an Easter Egg factory exploded with all its colors, and my ability to NOT be on time for anything could easily go into the Genius Book of World Records.

However, I have one, no questions asked, Type A personality trait. I always start things at the “beginning” of something. New Years Day, the 1st of any month and Sunday of any week makes total sense and brings a sense of calm to my soul. The idea of starting anything randomly on a Tuesday, or the 23rd, of some random month sets my entire inner peace, however little there may be at that time, into a whirlwind.

Meeting My Freespira Coach

Enter Paige, my Coach who I met today at my Freespira training. For 45 minutes we chatted about the different components that came into my introductory box, how to set them up and even walked me through a practice round. We bonded, I mean anyone who can rock a red pair of glasses is my kind of girl, we talked, and things were going great. And then it happened.

She suggested, encouraged, and at the end even flat-out challenged me to start my Freespira tonight. Now, to properly understand the absurdity of this request you first need to understand what the Freespira 28-day Program is. Feel free to explore their website for more specific details, but the important thing, the thing that makes starting in the evening such an earth shattering suggestion to this Type A Personality of mine, is that it is a program that requires you to do a 17-minute breathing exercise twice a day.

Breaking The Rules

Did you catch that? Twice a day. Like morning and night, so starting this program in the evening obviously means you are not starting it at the beginning of the day, but at the end….and let me tell you that is just not how things are done in my Type A Personality world. So I asked her, “So I start tomorrow morning, correct” totally knowing the answer she SHOULD have given was “yes, that is correct.”

But this amazing coach, who I had bonded with so well, shockingly replied, “well, nothing is stopping you from starting tonight.”

My face must have given away my surprise, I mean start tonight? I had already missed the “first session” for the day. The rules are twice a day, and if I start tonight that is only once a day. How is she thinking this is ok? She surely can’t be advocating I break the rules right at the start can she?

Then she said something totally mind-blowing, “follow your body and not your head.” She even threw down the gauntlet and challenged me to do so… so here I am Paige, ready to start my Freespira 28-day Journey by breaking the rules on day 0.5, just for you!
